Warm winter Greetings!!
What a crazy winter we have been having! Thank goodness there are only six weeks left of winter.
I had some meat and veggies given to me by some nice friends. So for the last couple of days, I have been cooking.
Making casseroles, meatloaf, and other comfort foods and sharing them with my grandsons and my neighbors. I feel really blessed that I can do this. A little kindness goes a very long way. All of these people really appreciate this.
The best part is that I really enjoy cooking. My Mom and Gram started teaching me when I was six on an old wood cook stove! They also taught me how to sew on an old Singer treadle sewing machine. Wonderful memories!!
I hope that you are all staying warm, safe, and healthy. Take care everyone.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
I hope that you all enjoyed the holidays with family and friends. I found out a few days before Christmas, that my neighbor, who is in a wheelchair would be alone. I cooked the meal and took it over to her apartment, where we enjoyed our meal and then I did the dishes. It made me happy that I could do something special for her.
I am hoping that you folks are working on entries for the contests. There are so many things we can do inside on cold or snowy days.
I am praying that you are all healthy and safe.
Webmaster’s Note: Did you listen to “Dropping by with a Pie?” Dropping by with a meal is a great version of it! Nice job, Margaret!

It doesn’t seem possible that the State Grange session is over for another year. It was great to see everyone. This year seems to have gone by way too fast.
I received the entries back from the Eastern States. I am proud to report that Maine had two winners. Ann Burns won second place for her three-piece baby Set. Ellie Collins won first place for her plastic canvas entry and first place for her adult garment entry. I presented their prizes at State Grange. Nice work! Congratulations, ladies.
I also had the honor to present donations to House in the Woods and to Home for Little Wanderers. Thank you to all of the Granges for your support of these two wonderful organizations.
I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s all be thankful for all that we have and let’s be kind to others.

BRR!! We have had three mornings in our area where the temperature was only 28 at 6 am! There was some frost on the pumpkins on those days. I was not ready for that yet.
What beautiful fall colors! I took a couple of days last week and went for a ride to enjoy them.
I hope to have the entries back from the Eastern States this week. I will bring them with me to State Grange so you may pick them up there. If you can’t be there, please call me and let me know so that we can make arrangements for you to get them.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at State Grange Session!
Here’s an updated list (as of October 4, 2022) of Annual Reports and Program Books posted to the Program Books and Information Page. There are still a few more to come.
This is the time of year when we “clear out the old” and bring in the new. There are two key documents for most committees.
An annual report for the previous Grange year (October 2021- September 2022) summarizing the committee/department’s activities and accomplishments.
A program book for the next year (October 2022 – September 2023) with important information such as contest rules, important dates, and resource material for that committee/department.
We are in the process of receiving and posting these to the Program Books and Information Page. For the next several weeks, it is important to pay attention to dates! If you are looking for information about this year’s contests, forms, etc., you’ll want this year’s (2021-2022) Program Book. We leave the books on the site for exactly that purpose–some forms and information are potentially needed right up until State Session in October. If you are planning for next year, be sure to download the book for that year (2022-2023.
Annual reports should be of interest to all members–it’s your way to discover what has happened in the previous year in the department/committee. The information can be of particular interest to those who are delegates attending State Session. The annual reports are provided in the delegate packet as well as available to all members on the website.
Both annual reports and program books are being uploaded as received from directors and committee chairs. Note that some annual reports are not usually available until State Session due to the close of the fiscal year on September 30, 2022. So far, we have annual reports from

WOW!!!!! My goodness, how about that heat and humidity? I am thankful I am not in the southern states.
We have been enjoying fresh corn on the cob, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Nothing better than fresh produce from the garden.
With lots of help from Sister Sherry and Brother Richard, everything is all set for the conference on the 20th. They helped set up the auditorium and Sister Sherry typed up and printed out the new booklets. Many thanks to both of you for all of your help. It is greatly appreciated.
Next month I will post a list of all the contest winners.
