These reminders are for farmers of all experience levels and for those who support them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stay dry and dress in warm layers; keep skin covered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take regular breaks to warm up when working outside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check on farming friends and neighbors. Severe weather can add tasks and disrupt normal routines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Signs of frostbite:<\/strong> red or painful skin; white or grayish-yellow patches; skin that feels hard, waxy, or numb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Signs of hypothermia:<\/strong> shivering, extreme fatigue, confusion, trouble using hands, or slurred speech. If hypothermia is suspected, check body temperature and seek medical help immediately if it is below <strong>95\u00b0F<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reduce Stress and Plan Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pace yourself and plan ahead to reduce stress for both people and animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure drinking water is unfrozen when animals need it; provide a safe alternative if repairs take time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Focus first on essential tasks, such as animal care.
