Hear Maine’s premier bluegrass band, The Misty Mountaineers, on Sat. Oct. 27 at 7pm. Tix $12. Settle into our soft, cushy theatre seats for traditional bluegrass, gospel and a mix of older country tunes done bluegrass style. Featuring Wilf Clark on the mandolin and as lead singer. Bernie Staples is a rock solid rhythm player and fine picker. He sings lead vocals and tenor harmony. Andre Tardif sings lead and harmony and plays both banjo and guitar. Dan Burke plays bass, dobro and adds some fine baritone harmonies. Kelly Burke plays bass. Check out the band’s Facebook page and their YouTube channel for videos of live performances from over the years. Tickets $12. Doors open at 6:30 pm. No reservations so come early. We’re a small theatre on Rt. 23 (851 North Dexter Rd), Dexter. Home-baked desserts and pretty good coffee sold during intermission. Come join the fun at Wayside’s 5th Annual Variety Show on Sat. Oct. 13 at 7 pm. Tix $7. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Music and comedy skits and sometimes a mixture of both. Music features Joe and Nellie Kennedy, ME Country Music Hall of Famers, playing country and folk on harmonica and guitar; Sam Brown and Stuart Moore playing American roots on fiddle and guitar; and Carde (Gaelic for friend) with Susan Abel, Donna Burt and Lauralynn Buie on bass, fiddle and percussion. Our comedy skits are “Bill E. Gerd vs. Alexa” with Dave Pearson, Dawn Huntt and Grace Lommel and “TB12 System for Totalled Fitness,” a parody of Tom Brady’s new book, with Tim Breen. There is always the possibility of surprise guests, too. Homebaked goodies and pretty good coffee sold at intermission. Raffle and 50/50.
