Wayside Grange Concert

David Dodson and The Lowdown play their folk, rock, blues, jazz and country music at the Wayside Theatre on Sat. July 27 at 7 pm. Tickets $12. Doors open at 6:30 pm. No reservations- just come!  Hear their concert at the Wayside in 2014.

David Dodson plays a mean guitar, tells a good story, sings like a bird, and he’s got rhythm.  He writes songs that range from poignant to hilarious, all crafted with a masterful touch.

The Lowdown is John and Rachel Nicholas and Michael Nickerson.   John and Rachel Nicholas have been making music together for many years. Their soulful songs speak straight to the heart, and their tight harmonies sound like they’re singing with one voice. John plays acoustic and electric guitars and Rachel adds percussion.

Michael Nickerson was born in Belfast ME and has been a lifelong musician. He holds down the bottom end on upright bass and occasionally adds great blues harp to the arrangements. Right away you can tell he loves music and, as Dodson says, he’s a darned good guy.

Add them all together and you have an embarrassment of riches delivered with passion and joy. With the rock-solid Michael Nickerson on bass, John and David on acoustic and electric guitars and the dynamic David-Rachel-John vocal trio, their songs come alive with passion and joy.

Baked goodies and pretty good coffee sold at intermission. There is a door prize and 50/50 raffle. Our 100-year-old hall offers real comfy theater seating, excellent lighting and sound, ample parking, indoor plumbing and HVAC, and a friendly staff of Grangers. 851 N Dexter Rd (Rt 23), Dexter.  FB Wayside Grange or Joe Kennedy 207-277-3733.
